What is WadaikoWorld?

It's the wonderful world of Japanese Taiko Drumming and all encompassed:

The performing groups
both professional and amatuer;
The people
from Grandmaster to new-taster;
The drum makers
from nearly 400 years proven to first re-skinning in the garage.

Language free, barrier free, borderless and uninhibited,
the world of Wadaiko is stronger and bigger than ever.

WadaikoWorld was originally created by Art Lee in 1998 when he first moved to Japan.  It was during this time that he found so many different facets to Taiko Drumming to which he had not been exposed while learning in the U.S.

WadaikoWorld currently functions:
1. To relay interesting and important news and events happening in Japan back to all taiko enthusiasts outside of Japan.  This included when Japanese professional groups toured abroad, as well as internships and recruit possibilities for enthusiasts abroad to study in Japan.


Since 2004, with the creation of TOKARA and Art's own solo career taking off, WadaikoWorld was handed over to the current owners - English speakers in Japan (some ALT's) who are also enthusiasts of taiko.  However, we do still collaborate with Art, and once in a while, you will be able to catch his blog entries in the news section - which we hope to make a bit more active than in the past.
